This feature will prevent unauthorized access to the MFP settings when User Authentication is not enabled.
- Navigate to System Settings > Security Settings > Password Change.
- Check the box for Restrict Device Web Page Access Via Password.
- If you do not want the machine to use the default password, check the option to change the user password and set a new one (store it securely).
- When users navigate to the MFP web page, they will be required to enter a User or Administrator password to gain access.
Alternatively, if you check only the option Protect Settings by Password, users will be able to view the Machine Identification Page, but all other areas will require a password.

Why would you restrict the web page?
Users can access and change settings that may negatively affect the functionality of the machine. For example, modifying SMTP settings can break scan-to-email functionality. Changing Home Screen settings can disrupt workflow customization and touch panel layouts.
Requiring a password for the web interface helps ensure critical system settings remain protected and consistent.
