USB Printing on Sharp Copiers
Since most copiers are set up to print via Cat5 or wireless connections these days, Sharp copiers come out of the box with the USB printing feature disabled. You’ll need a regular USB-B to USB-A cable like the one pictured below.
LEAVE THE USB CABLE UNPLUGGED UNTIL YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE DRIVER!
How To Enable USB Printing from Sharp Copier Panel
- Double tap “Home” button.
Note: For BP models there will be an icon in the top-left or top-right corner
of the screen that looks like a house. For MX models the Home button is the
white button in the indentation next to the touch screen.
- Tap VER… (bottom right)
- When the 10-key pad pops up, tap # * C *
- Enter 26 > B/W start
- Enter 50 > B/W start
- Letter K, change 0 to 1
- Tap OK (bottom right)
- Exit using the square button above the number 1
- The machine will reboot and the USB printing feature will be activated
How To Set Up a Computer to Print via USB to a Sharp Copier
Visit Sharp’s site to download the appropriate drivers.
- Select MFP, choose your model, and choose Drivers and Utilities.
Then click Search and Download.
- Choose your operating system.
- Choose the latest printer drivers.
- Scroll down and click Download button, then run the setup.exe file that downloads.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install the drivers for USB
- Once the Sharp drivers are installed, connect the USB cable to your computer and it should begin to identify the printer and add the driver to your drivers list.
